Small wheels are more used for street skating, mid sized wheels are for general purpose and all terrain and larger wheels are better for ramps. Riser pads are not required for most street or general purpose set ups, however some people do use very thin ones so to reduce stress on the board and to prevent wheel bite with larger wheels. While selecting hardware for your deck, the rule of thumb is to add 1” to the size of your riser if any. So if you are not using a riser, a 1” bot will suffice. If you are, just add 1” to that and then choose the nearest sized bolt to that.
